How Our Asia Pacific Team Is Answering Teen’s Toughest Questions

Your prayers can help our team in Hong Kong reach young adults with the gospel.

According to extensive research, there are many factors involved in why young people are leaving the church. By the high school and college age, the faith a person is raised with is either completely lost or made into their own. Unfortunately, the secular influences that overwhelm a young person’s life make it difficult for them to choose to follow Jesus.

In 2011, Our Daily Bread Ministries founded YAI (Young Adults Initiative), an online platform for young adult Christians all over the world seeking to know the greatest answer to life’s questions, including, “What is my purpose?”

Through a variety of content, such as articles, artwork, and videos, the YAI team invites young people to walk with them as they journey and encourage one another through the whys of life. They also create inspiring lockscreen images for smartphones so users can pick their favorite, download it for free, and use it as an opportunity to see an encouraging Scripture verse every time they open their phone.

Written in four different languages and regions (Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, and the United States), YAI’s goal is to be reachable by every young person in the world and provide them with biblical resources that direct them to God.

Our team in Hong Kong is specifically working to create biblically rich, relatable content for our young Chinese-speaking audience. Their team of six has the goal to encourage young Christian adults to explore more of their own talents and use their gifts and abilities to glorify God.

When the team first started out, they almost predominantly consisted of volunteers who contributed their creative talents to encourage and inspire young people to read the Bible and follow Jesus. Today, the team still provides the opportunity for young people to contribute their talents to the platform by submitting their work through the corresponding region’s website.

Beyond voluntarily contributed work, the four separate YAI teams gather together monthly with their teams and annually all together to discuss content, plans, and brainstorm new ideas for the upcoming year.

YAI’s overall goal for this program is to be a community of young believers who can encourage and interact with one another through stories, Scripture, and prayer.

We invite you to join us in praying for God’s blessing over the YAI initiative for all teams and for God’s protection over our staff in Hong Kong.
