The apostle Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 10:31, “Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” In many ways, these words guide what we do at Our Daily Bread Ministries (ODBM), especially our publishing team.
Our Daily Bread Publishing (ODBP)—formerly Discovery House Publishers—is made up of 20 employees and more than 20 freelance writers who work tirelessly to produce on average 35 books annually in our US office.
“ODBP’s mission is to publish books that feed the soul with the Word of God,” said ODBP publisher Chriscynethia Floyd. “Readers are seeking high-quality resources with strong felt needs, and it’s a priority for our team to meet those desires for our gracious supporters.”
It’s because of this commitment that Chriscynethia and her team were overjoyed at the recent recognition of several 2024 ODBP titles. These recognitions included:
Selah Award Winners:
- – Bible Studies Category: Embracing Joy by Jean Wilund
- – Children’s Literature Category: Our Daily Bread for Kids: 365 Devotions from Genesis to Revelation by Crystal Bowman and Teri McKinley
ECPA Christian Book Award Finalists:
- – Bible Studies Category: A Walking Tour of the Gospels by John A. Beck
- – Children Category: Our Daily Bread for Kids: 365 Devotions from Genesis to Revelation by Crystal Bowman and Teri McKinley
In addition to ODBP’s US team, Christian publishing leaders have also recognized our Brazil team.
ODBM’s Brazil publications team publishes between 42 and 48 projects each year, and some of its 2023 titles were recently honored by the Brazilian Association of Christian Editors (ASEC), Brazil’s leading Christian publishing organization. These recognitions included:
- – Devotional of the Year: Promessas de Deus (The Promises of God) by Charles Spurgeon
- – Fiction Book of the Year: Guerra Santa (Holy War) by John Bunyan
- – Cover of the Year: Psicologia Biblica (Biblical Psychology) by Oswald Chambers
Although the US and Brazil teams are celebrating these honors received, work isn’t stopping anytime soon. ODBP’s US division has new publications coming soon, such as The Whole Man: 40 Spiritual Reflections from Black Men on the Head, Hands, and Soul. The Brazil team also plans on launching Portuguese translations of the books Messiah and Beginnings of the Institute for Bible Reading’s Immerse reading Bible collection later this year.
If you would like to support the creation of biblical titles in the United States, Brazil, and beyond, please consider giving to ODBM today.
